COVID-19

Re-Opening and COVID-19 Update from Aesthetic Dental Zone, Dulwich Dental Clinic and Dulwich Laser Beauty Clinic.

Date 04/06/2020

To all the amazing patients and patrons of our three clinics.

As I am sure you are aware our government are currently issuing guidance on a gradual and controlled lifting of the COVID-19 lockdown situation. Accordingly, and with liaison and consultation with the governing bodies and England’s Chief  Dental Officer (CDO), we will be re-opening Aesthetic Dental Zone & Dulwich Dental Clinic in a phased manner, initially with limited access and provision of services for emergency dental treatments only.

Our re-opening will be conducted according to the relevant governing body’s recommended screening and infection control measures which are guided by Public Health England, British Dental Association (BDA), Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the General Dental Council (GDC).

Re-opening: Phase 1 of our re-opening for face to face consultation will be on 08/06/2020.

The Chief Dental Officer has announced the opening of all the dental clinics throughout England from this date but with some limitation.

We will follow as the current COVID-19 situation progresses and we will, of course, keep you updated on this.

Further information about our re-opening procedure and what to expect as a patient is detailed below.

Booking an appointment: Initially we would prefer if all appointment requests were made by phone or email dulwichdental@yahoo.co.uk for Dulwich Dental Clinic and adzclinic@ymail.com for Aesthetic Dental Zone.

If you prefer to call then please call 020 8299 1434 for private patients only, or 020 82991334 for Dulwich Dental Clinic (NHS).

Please leave a message with your name and a return call number. We will endeavour to respond to appointment and information requests as quickly as we can but please be aware that we are likely to be inundated with calls & emails during this early phase.

We pledge to provide the best possible dental service we can under the current and future changing circumstances. We also appreciate that you may have questions you want to ask before you come to see us so please do not hesitate to contact us.

Initial phase of re-opening

We will start to invite and see all emergency patients who are in need of urgent treatment.

Patients will first be seen for a brief assessment in order to plan the appropriate treatment.

Important: When providing any treatment that require the Generating of Aerosol , using drill etc,We have to use additional measure in order to protect our Patients and Staff.  This is so that the surgery time can be used most effectively to treat as many patients as possible in these early stages & to allow us to adequately prepare. This will require you to return for a subsequent appointment shortly afterwards for the definitive treatment of the primary problem only. We can not at this stage complete any further items that are non-essential.

Please also note you may be seen by another dentist for the assessment but we will endeavor to book you with your own dentist, where possible, for the treatment itself.
Please note, due to some restrictions imposed from NHS, at our NHS clinic, Dulwich Dental Clinic, we may not be able to provide all our NHS services during phase one. You will be informed by your dentist of the alternative options available.

Please arrive at the clinic on time, not more than 5 minutes before your appointment, as we will try to limit patients/ persons in the building.

If you need to have a chaperone with you, unfortunately, we have to ask those accompanying you to stay outside of the clinics.

We will email you most of the documents you need before your treatment to your email address, please check your details with reception.

We will reschedule your appointment if you do not pass the criteria required for a safe visit

Before your appointment we will contact you. If you feel unwell or you, or anyone in your households, have any of the COVID-19 symptoms you must let us know.

Upon arrival we will take your temperature, if above 37.2 degrees then a delay in an appointment may be required.

We will provide a face mask which has to be worn whilst waiting to be seen.

We will ask you to use the hand sanitisation station upon arrival and departure.

We will ask you to rinse with special antiseptic mouthwash for 45 to 60 seconds prior to starting treatment.

Furthermore, for patient and staff safety:

We will monitor all the staff members on a daily basis to ensure they are fit and healthy.

On arrival you will be greeted by our front of house who will take your temperature and there will be hand sanitizing stations to use on entry and exits. You will be given a mask on arrival if you do not have one, we ask for all patients attending to wear a mask if possible.

2M social distancing rule has been implemented into our practices to ensure our patients and staff member remain safe and protected.

Please do not arrive early for your appointment. Please arrive on time to ensure we minimize the amount of people in the building. If you are driving to your appointment, let us know when you have arrived, remain in your car and when you are ready to be called, one of our friendly helpful receptionist can call you to inform you.

Please do not enter the building unless you have an appointment!

We will not take cash payment. Bank transfer (preferred option) or card payments only.

If in the waiting area we have more than 2 patients, we may ask you to wait outside.

We will allocate specific visiting hours for vulnerable and shielded patients.

We can see patients under the age of 16 accompanied by only one adultPlease do not bring any other family member with you.

Our Dentists and nurses will use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) during your visit. Due to Staff and Patient safety, we will not be able to remove our facemask or shield during the greeting, throughout the treatment and beyond.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide any hygienist services during phase one. We will keep you informed when the limitations are relaxed & this service resumes.

Our sister clinic, Dulwich Laser Beauty Clinic will likely resume activity in July when the Government permits the opening.

These are unprecedented times for everyone including the team at Aesthetic Dental Zone, Dulwich Dental Clinic and Dulwich Laser Beauty Clinic so please bear with us as we attempt to work through the inevitable backlog of patients requiring assistance, and try to do so in a safe way that minimises risk to both our patients and staff.

.

We will keep you updated as to how and when we will be extending our services towards our normal provision and hopefully this will be in the not too distant future. We also really appreciate your continued support for the practices and will be doing all we can to help you when you need us.

Kind regards, stay well and keep positive.
